A solution of N,N-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (258 mg, 1.25 mmol) and 4-dimethylaminopyridine (12 mg, 0.10 mmol) in dichloromethane (4 mL) was added dropwise to a solution of 6-(5-methyl-3-phenyl-isoxazol-4-ylmethoxy)-nicotinic acid (310 mg, 1.0 mmol) and 2-propanol (0.06 g, 1.0 mmol) in dichloromethane (4 mL) at room temperature. After 15 h, the mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated and purified by chromatography (SiO2, heptane:ethyl acetate 100:0 to 8:2) to give the title compound (270 mg, 77%) as a colourless oil. MS: m/e=353.1 [M+H]+.
