Procedure

A mixture of (4-bromo-2-methyl-benzyl)-cyclopropyl-amine (Intermediate 158, 600.0 mg, 2.49 mmols), ethyl iodide (1.56 g, 10.0 mmols), and K2CO3 (690.0 mg, 5.00 mmols) in 10 mL acetone was heated at 60° C. for 18 hours. The mixture was cooled to room temperature, diluted with H2), and extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were washed with H2O and saturated aqueous NaCl before being dried (MgSO4) and concentrated under reduced pressure. The title compound was isolated by column chromatography (2.5% EtOAc-hexanes).
