Procedure
A solution of 2-(2-chlorobenzyl)-7-(3-hydroxy-1-propyl)benzoxazole (10 g, 0.033 mole) in ether (50 ml) was treated with methanesulfonyl chloride (4.4 g, 0.037 mol) and triethylamine 3.7 g, 0.037 mol). After stirring for 1 hour, the triethylamine hydrochloride was filtered and the ether was evaporated to give the title compound which was pure by TLC.
Workup
- filtrationthe triethylamine hydrochloride was filtered
- customthe ether was evaporated
