Procedure
A mixture of 4 g of the product of Example 1 and 4.5 g of m-chloroperbenzoic acid in 50 mL of chloroform was stirred overnight at room temperature and filtered. The filtrate was washed with aqueous NaHSO3, aqueous NaHCO3, brine, dried (Na2SO4), and concentrated. The residue was a mixture of diastereomeric epoxides.
