Procedure

6 g of methyl isocyanate in 15 ml of ethyl acetate were added dropwise at room temperature to a solution of 16.5 g of 1-amino-3,6-dithiaoctane in 40 ml of ethylacetate. The urea precipitated was recrystallised twice from methanol/water.
