Procedure
5-(1-tert-Butoxycarbonylamino-2-phenylethyl)-[1,2,4]oxadiazole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (1.5 g, 4.2 mmol) was dissolved in a saturated solution of hydrogen chloride in ethyl acetate (40 ml). After 5 h at 20° C. the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to give 1.2 g of (R) 5-(1-amino-2-phenylethyl)-[1,2,4]oxadiazole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester hydrochloride.
