To a solution of 4,6-dichloro-5-nitro-pyrimidine (100 mg, 0.52 mmol) in anhydrous THF (2 mL) was added aminopyrazole (76 mg, 0.62 mmol). The solution was stirred at RT for 2 hrs and was filtered via short silica gel column. The filtrate that contained product and the unreacted starting pyrrimidine was concentrated under vacuum. The resulting residue was used directly without further purification.
