Procedure
To a solution of the ester of EXAMPLE 9 (1.0 eq) in THF/MeOH (2/1; 0.1M) was added of aqueous solution of LiOH (1N; 5.0 eq). The resulting mixture was stirred 1 hour at 70° C., acidified to pH 5 using HCl (1N) and extracted with Et2O (2×). The combined organic extracts were washed with brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated. Flash chromatography (Hex:EtOAc; 9:1 to 1:9 in 15 min) afforded the title compound as a white solid.
