To a mixture of 12E (6.8 g, 0.021 mol) in MeOH (40 mL) and water (20 mL) was added K2CO3 (4.5 g, 0.032 mol) in batches at room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight, then neutralized with diluted hydrochloric acid to pH=6˜7, extracted with ethyl acetate, dried and concentrated to give 12F (5.6 g, 95.1% yield).
