3-(4-Nitro-phenyl)-5-[(2-oxo-pyrrolidine-1-carbonyl)-amino]-isothiazole-4-carboxylic acid amide (10.2 g,) and 10% palladium on carbon (2 g) in tetrahydrofuran (300 mL) and dimethylformamide (50 mL) was hydrogenated at 80 psi over 24 hr in metal bomb. The catalyst was removed by filtration through celite and washed with tetrahydrofuran. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give an off white solid, which was stirred in ether (150 mL) and filtered to give the title compound as a off white solid (8.7 g, 94%).
