To a solution of 2-{6-[({[(4-methyl-1,3-oxazol-5-yl)(phenyl)methylene]amino}oxy)methyl]pyridin-2-yl}-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione (0.3 g, 0.69 mmol) dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (7 mL) was added hydrazine hydrate (171 mg, 3.4 mmol). After stirring for 24 hours at room temperature the precipitate formed was filtered. The filtrate was evaporated and purified on silica affording 6-[({[(4-methyl-1,3-oxazol-5-yl)(phenyl)methylene]amino}oxy)methyl]pyridin-2-amine (0.19 g, 85%).
