(3S,8S)-3-(4-Acetoxy-phenyl)-7-((S)-1-phenyl-propyl)-2,3,6,7,8,9-hexahydro-[1,4]dioxino[2,3-g]isoquinoline-8-carboxylic acid methyl ester (120 mg) was dissolved in methanol (5 mL). To this solution was added NaHCO3 (400 mg). The mixture was stirred at rt for 2-3 h. After completion of the reaction, the mixture was poured into water (10 mL) and was extraxcted with EtOAc (30 mL). The organic layer was washed with water, brine, dried and concentracted to get the desired product as a white solid (110 mg) LCMS (m/z): 461.
