To a solution of 3-(4-benzyloxyphenyl)propionic acid (0.19 g, 0.74 mmol) and HATU (0.29 g, 0.75 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) is added N-methylmorpholine (0.32 mL, 2.91 mmol) followed by ((S)-5-amino-1-{[(3,5-diamino-6-chloro-pyrazine-2-carbonyl)-amino]-methyl}-pentyl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (Intermediate B) (0.30 g, 0.75 mmol). The resulting mixture is stirred at RT for 16 h. The solvent is removed in vacuo and the residue is purified by column chromatography (basic alumina, 2% MeOH in DCM) to afford the title compound as yellow solid. [M-Boc+H]+ 540.
