To a solution of 3-[3-(diaminomethylene-sulfamoyl)-4-methoxy-phenyl]-3-phenyl-propionic acid methyl ester (400 mg, 1.02 mmol) in a mixture of MeOH and water (30 mL of 1:1 solution) is added LiOH (73 mg, 3.06 mmol). The reaction mixture is stirred at RT overnight. 1 M aqueous HCl is added to neutralise the reaction mixture. The resulting solid is collected by filtration and dried under vacuum to afford the title compound that is used without further purification.
