Procedure
A solution of Compound 40A in CH2Cl2 (2 mL) and TFA (1 mL) was stirred at r.t. overnight afterwhich the solvent was removed in vacuo to obtain the desired product (Compound 40) as pale yellow powder (0.036 g). The compound is racemic (i.e. mixture of both enantiomers). The designated “trans” stereochemistry merely describes the relative stereochemistry for the two substituents on the cyclopropane ring. MS (electrospray): mass calculated for C25H26F3NO4, 461.18; m/z found 462 [M+H]+.
