To 2-oxazolidone (0.06 g, 0.70 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (10 mL) was added sodium hydride (60% in mineral oil; 0.03 g, 0.65 mmol), and the mixture was stirred for 10 minutes. [3-(2-Bromomethyl-4-methyl-phenoxy)-phenyl]-acetic acid ethyl ester (0.17 g, 0.43 mmol) was added in 1,4-dioxane, and the reaction was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature. After work-up, the crude material was purified by preparative HPLC to give the desired product (0.10 g).
