To {3-[4-chloro-2-(2-oxo-oxazolidin-3-ylmethyl)-phenoxy]-4-methoxy-phenyl}-acetic acid ethyl ester (0.36 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane was added lithium hydroxide and H2O, and the reaction was stirred overnight at room temperature. The mixture was worked-up, and the residue was purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound.
