To {3-[4-(benzhydrylidene-amino)-2-(2-oxo-oxazolidin-3-ylmethyl)-phenoxy]-4-methoxy-phenyl}-acetic acid ethyl ester (2.2 mmol) in MeOH was added hydroxylamine hydrochloride (4.4 mmol) and potassium acetate (4.4 mmol), and the reaction was stirred overnight. The mixture was worked-up, and the crude material was purified by silica gel chromatography to give the title compound.
