Procedure
4,4-Dimethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-naphthalen-1-one (2.2 g, 12.6 mmol) was dissolved in EtOH (10 ml) and NH2OH.HCl (1.05 g, 15.2 mmol) and NaOAc (2.0 g, 24 mmol) were added. The mixture was heated to reflux for 2 h upon which a yellow suspension is formed. The suspension is cooled down to RT and diluted with EtOAc, washed with H2O, dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated to give 4,4-Dimethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-naphthalen-1-one oxime.
