A solution of {2-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1,3-oxazol-4-yl}methan-1-ol (0.19 g, 0.78 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (15 ml) was cooled to 0° C., and triethylamine (0.33 ml, 2,34 mmol) was added, followed by methanesulfonyl chloride (0. 12 ml, 1.56 mmol) dropwise. The mixture was stirred for 1 hour at 0° C., then water was added, and product was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was dried over sodium sulfate, and solvent removed from the filtrate under reduced pressure, to yield {2-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1,3-oxazol-4-yl}methyl methylsulfonate, the mesyl derivative of a compound of formula (15),
