2-(Benzo[2,1,3]thiadiazol-5-yloxy)-nicotinic acid (30.8 mg, 0.11 mmol), 2-(4-aminomethyl-phenyl)-propan-2-ol (18.6 mg, 0.11 mmol), 1-hydroxybenzotriazole hydrate (16.8 mg, 0.12 mmol), and 1-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (25.9 mg, 0.14 mmol) were dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide (10 ml) and stirred at room temperature over night. The solution was poured into water (30 ml) and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were washed successively with 1N NaOH, water, and brine, then dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting amber oil was purified by flash column chromatography (1:1 ethyl acetate/hexane) to afford a white foam (29 mg, 0.07 mmol).
