To a solution of imidazole (34 mg) in MeCN (3 mL) was added K2CO3 (138 mg), n-hexadecyltrimethylphosphonium bromide (1 mg) and 3-bromomethyl-5-(5-chloro-thiophen-2-yl)-isoxazole (139 mg). The mixture was stirred for 3 h at 70° C. After cooling to RT the reaction mixture was diluted with DCM (5 mL) and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give crude 5-(5-Chloro-thiophen-2-yl)-3-imidazol-1-ylmethyl-isoxazole (153 mg) which was used in the next step without further purification.
