Reagents, catalysts & solvents 1
Procedure
The compound (37.8 g, 41.0 mmol) synthesized in Example 2 (2c) was dissolved in pyridine (300 mL) and p-toluenesulfonyl chloride (15.6 g, 82.0 mmol) and 4-dimethylaminopyridine (1.0 g, 0.82 mmol) were added thereto, followed by stirring of the mixture at room temperature for 13 hours. After the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure, the residue was poured to 10% aqueous hydrochloric acid solution (50 mL) and ethyl acetate (200 mL) and the organic layer was washed with 10% aqueous hydrochloric acid solution (50 mL), saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution (20 mL) and saturated brine (20 mL) and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, followed by distilling off of the solvent under reduced pressure. The residue was purified using silica gel flash column chromatography (hexane:ethyl acetate, 5:1-3:1, V/V) to obtain the desired title compound (32.6 g, yield 74%) as a yellow oil.
