A mixture of 2.33 g (10.0 mM) of the phenyl carbamate 8 and 1.08 g (10.0 mM) of 2-amino-5-methylpyridine in 9 ml of anhydrous DMF was stirred at 70° C. for 2 hrs., cooled and poured into water with stirriang. The resulting precipitate was collected, washed with water and then acetone to give 1.9 g of the above urea as a pale yellow solid, m.p. 227° C. (dec.).
