A mixture of 3.0 g (12.8 mM) of the phenyl carbamate 8 and 1.5 g (12.8 mM) of 2-amino-6-hydroxypyridine in 25 ml of anhydrous DMF was heated at 85° C. for 5 hrs., cooled, and poured into 100 ml of water. The resulting precipitate was collected, washed successively with water, ethanol, ethyl acetate, and ether. Recrystallization from ethanol gave 1.0 g of the above urea as a yellow solid, m.p. 233°-234° C. (dec.).
