A mixture of 2.33 g (10.0 mM) of phenyl carbamate 8 and 1.24 g. (10.0 mM) of 5-amino-2-methoxypyridine in 9 ml of anhydrous DMF was heated at 70° C. for 6 hrs., cooled, and poured into 40 ml of water. On cooling in ice, crystals precipitated from the aqueous solution and these were collected and recrystallized from methanol to give 0.5 g of the above urea as pale yellow needles, m.p. 175°-176° C.
