Acetyl chloride (0.011 ml) was added dropwise to a solution of 1-methyl-6-(4-(3-(methylamino)propoxy)-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine-4-carbonitrile (20 mg) and diisopropylethylamine (0.045 ml) in THF (2 ml). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The product was then purified by acidic prep HPLC to give 6-{-4-[3-(N-acetyl-N-methylamino)propoxy]-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl}-1-methyl-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine-4-carbonitrile (9.2 mg).
