Procedure

After dissolving 160 mg of 2-tert-butoxy-6-[2-[3-(2-fluorophenoxymethyl)piperidino]ethyl]pyrazine in 2 ml of ethyl acetate, 2 ml of 4N hydrogen chloride/ethyl acetate was added, and the mixture was allowed to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution was added to the reaction solution and extraction was performed with dichloromethane. After drying over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate, active carbon was added, and the mixture was filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (108 mg, 79% yield).
