Procedure
To a suspension of 6-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carboxylic acid (200 mg, 0.41 mmol) from Step A in methylene chloride was added a drop of DMF (cat.) and oxalyl chloride (0.18 mL, 2.0 mmol). The reaction was stirred at rt for 1 h and then evaporated to dryness. The acid chloride was dissolved in methylene chloride and used directly in the subsequent amide formation.
Workup
- customevaporated to dryness
- dissolutionThe acid chloride was dissolved in methylene chloride
