To a solution 4-chloro-3-(methylthio)pyridin-2-amine (40 mg, 0.23 mmol), NaNO2 (17 mg, 0.25 mmol) in HCl aq (6M, 0.5 mL) was added CuSO4 (37 mg, 0.23 mmol). The resulting mixture was allowed to stir at 0° C. for 0.5 h. To the solution was added water (1 mL), extracted with EtOAc (2×5 mL), dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to afford the title compound as a yellow solid. LC/MS m/z=176.1 [M+H]+
