To a solution of 1-amino-2-(isopropylsulphonyl)benzene (199 mg, 1 mmol) in 2 mL of DMF was added NaH (60% in oil, 44 mg, 1.1 mmol) in one portion at 0° C. After the reaction mixture was stirred for 20 min, 2,4-dichloro-7-{[2-(trimethylsilyl)ethoxy]methyl}-7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine (317 mg, 1 mmol) was added at 0° C. The reaction mixture was then warmed up to room temperature and stirred for additional 2 h. The reaction was quenched with water. Extraction with EtOAc followed by silica gel column chromatography (20% EtOAc in heptane) gave the desired product (202 mg, 42% yield). MS/ES+: m/z=481.
