A mixture of 305 mg of 2-(trimethylsilyl)ethyl 3-{isopropyl[trans-4-(methoxycarbonyl)cyclohexyl]sulfamoyl}benzoate, a solution of TBAF in THF (1.0 M, 1.0 mL), and 3.0 mL of THF was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. To the reaction mixture was added 0.2 M hydrochloric acid, followed by extraction with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with 0.2 M hydrochloric acid, water, and saturated brine in this order, then dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain 240 mg of 3-{isopropyl[trans-4-(methoxycarbonyl)cyclohexyl]sulfamoyl}benzoic acid as a colorless oil.
