To a mixture of ethyl 8-(1,3-oxazol-5-yl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carboxylate (2.47 g), THF (75 mL) and EtOH (25 mL) was added 8N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (1.42 mL), and the mixture was stirred at 50° C. for 4 hr. To the reaction mixture was added 1N hydrochloric acid at 0° C., and the mixture was diluted with water. The insoluble substance was collected by filtration, and washed with cooled IPE to give the title compound (2.21 g).
