The mixture of (S)-2-tert-butoxy-2-(5-(4-chlorophenyl)-7-methyl-2-(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)quinolin-6-yl)ethyl pivalate (compound of Example 26) (10 mg) and hydrazine in THF (1.0 N, 1 mL, 1 mmol) was heated at 80° C. for 12 hours. Concentration under reduced pressure gave (S)-2-tert-butoxy-2-(5-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-hydrazinyl-7-methylquinolin-6-yl)ethyl pivalate, which was used for next step without purification. LCMS-ESI+ (m/z): [M+H]+ calcd for C27H35ClN3O3: 484.2. Found: 484.3.
