To a solution of 0.9 g of 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-amino-1-propanol, 0.5 g of triethylamine in 10 ml of tetrahydrofuran at 0° C., was added dropwise 0.8 g of 2,6-difluorobenzoyl chloride. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 hours. The precipitated solid was filtered off and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. To the residue, there was added 20 ml of tetrahydrofuran and 2.4 g of triphenylphosphine and further added 2.0 g of diisopropyl azodicarboxylate. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 12 hours and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was subjected to silica gel chromatography to afford 0.5 g of 2-(2,6-difluorophenyl)-4-(4-chlorophenyl)-5,6-dihydro-4H-1,3-oxazine. ND23.2 1.5532
