N-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-cis-4-amino-1-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid (23) (1.00 g; 4.11 mmol) is dissolved in methylene chloride (30 mL) at ambient temperature. 1,7-Diphenyl-4-aminoheptane hydrochloride (1) (1.50 g; 4.93 mmol), N,N-diisopropylethylamine (1.70 g; 13.15 mmol) and PyBOP (2.57 g; 4.93 mmol) are added sequentially. The reaction is stirred 4 hours at room temperature, then concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is purified via silica gel chromatography (20%<40% ethyl acetate in hexanes) affording the desired product as a solid. CIMS: MH30 493
