2.5 ml of ethyl bromoacetate were added to 4 g of the product of Step C in 15 ml of dimethylsulfoxide and 4 g of potassium carbonate were added, followed by heating at 80° C. for 2 hours 30 minutes. The reaction medium was poured into iced water and extracted with methylene chloride. The extracts were dried and concentrated to dryness to obtain 5.10 g of the expected product.
