Procedure
To a stirred solution of Intermediate 5 (0.3 g) in dichloromethane (30 ml) was added triethylamine (0.3 ml) and methyl chloroformate (0.15 ml). After 3 h, the dichloromethane was removed in vacuo, and the resulting slurry dissolved in ethyl acetate (20 ml), washed with aqueous citric acid (10%, 15 ml), saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate (15 ml) and brine (15 ml). The organic solvent was dried over magnesium sulphate (2 g), and the solvent removed in vacuo to yield the title compound as a yellow oil (0.26 g).
