3.0 g of 4-[3,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-[1,2,4]triazol-1-yl]benzoic acid (Example 5) and 1.25 ml of chloro-N,N-2-trimethyl-1-propen-1-amine [CAS-Reg.-No. 26189-59-3] are stirred for 2 h in 50 ml of tetrahydrofuran. 2.2 ml of triethylamine and 0.8 ml of morpholine are added and the mixture is stirred at room temperature for 18 h. It is poured onto water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic phases are dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated on a rotary evaporator. The residue is crystallized from isopropanol. After drying, {4-[3,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-[1,2,4]triazol-1-yl]-phenyl}morpholin-4-yl-methanone remains as colorless crystals of m.p. 157-160° C.
