A solution of Example 1B (1.03 g, 2.10 mmol) in a mixture of THF (4 mL), methanol (6 mL), and water (3 mL) at room temperature was treated with NaOH (0.42 g, 10.5 mmol), stirred for 3 hours, adjusted to pH <7 with 1N HCl, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined extracts were dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated to provide a quantitative yield of the desired product.
