Procedure
To a solution of Example 63A (1.0 g, 5.2 mmol) in N,N-dimethylformamide (10 mL) were added sodium hydride (0.52 g, 12.9 mmol, 60% in mineral oil, Aldrich), 2-(bromomethyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran (0.8 mL, 6.2 mmol) and sodium iodide (0.23 g, 1.5 mmol). After stirring at 65° C. for 16 h, the reaction mixture was cooled and quenched with saturated NaHCO3 (10 mL). The aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate (3×20 mL). The combined organic extracts were dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by column chromatography using an Analogix® Intelliflash280™ (SiO2, 0-10% methanol in dichloromethane) to provide 0.82 g (55%) of the title compound. 1H NMR (501 MHz, chloroform-d) δ ppm 1.22-1.33 (m, 1H), 1.27 (s, 9H), 1.34-1.49 (m, 3H), 1.51-1.62 (m, 1H), 1.72-1.83 (m, 1H), 2.87 (s, 3H), 2.95 (s, 3H), 3.36-3.49 (m, 1H), 3.73-3.83 (m, 1H), 3.95 (dd, J=11.3, 3.0 Hz, 1H), 4.02 (dd, J=13.4, 7.7 Hz, 1H), 4.17 (dd, J=13.4, 5.8 Hz, 1H), 5.55 (s, 1H), 8.00 (s, 1H). MS (ESI+) m/z 293 (M+H)+.
