4-{[7-(Benzyloxy)-6-methoxy-4-quinazolinyl]oxy}-2-chloroaniline (12.2 g) was dissolved in anhydrous chloroform. Triethylamine (8.4 ml) was then added to the solution, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature. Separately, triphosgene (4.5 g) was dissolved in anhydrous chloroform (12 ml), and the solution was added dropwise to the mixed solution. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 20 min, and n-propylamine (4.9 ml) was then added thereto, followed by stirring at room temperature for additional one hr to precipitate a white solid. This solid was collected by filtration and was then washed with chloroform to give rib 9.4 g (yield 63%) of the title compound.
