To a solution (3 mL) of tert-butyl{[5-(2-fluoro-3-formylphenyl)-1-(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl]methyl}methylcarbamate (182 mg) in 2-propanol were added hydroxylamine hydrochloride (40 mg) and sodium acetate (47 mg). After stirring at room temperature for 3 hr, saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution was added to the reaction mixture and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (eluent:hexane-ethyl acetate=8:1→3:1) to give the title compound as a pale-yellow oil (yield 150 mg, 80%).
