244.0 mg (0.65 mmol) of 4-(4-morpholinylcarbonyl)phenyl trifluoromethanesulphonate (Example 18A), 189.6 mg (0.75 mmol) of bis(pinacolato)diboron, 158.8 mg (1.62 mmol) of potassium acetate, 18.2 mg (0.02 mmol) of PdCl2(dppf), 200.0 mg (0.50 mmol) of N-[(3S)-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl]-7-bromo-1-benzothiophene-2-carboxamide hydrochloride (Example 22A), 1.24 ml of 2 M sodium carbonate solution and a further 18.2 mg (0.02 mmol) of PdCl2(dppf) in 2.5 ml of DMF are reacted by general method D. Drying under high vacuum results in 76.8 mg (30.1% of theory) of the title compound.
