7-Benzylamino-3-ethoxycarbonylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylic acid (0.20 g, 0.58 mmol) obtained in step 4 was dissolved in DMF (2 mL), 3-methyl-4-phenylpiperidine hydrochloride (Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, vol. 12, page 709, 0.15 g, 0.70 mmol), 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (0.13 g, 0.70 mmol) and 1-ethyl-3-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]carbodiimide hydrochloride (0.10 g, 0.70 mmol) were added, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hr. Saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution (10 mL) was added dropwise to the reaction mixture, and the precipitated solid was m collected by filtration. The obtained solid was washed with water, and dried under reduced pressure at 50° C. overnight to give the title compound (0.23 g, 81%).
