Ethyl 6-chloro-7-(4-(3-(4-chlorophenyl) propylcarbamoyl)phenoxy)chroman-4-carboxylate (80 mg, 0.15 mmol) was diluted with THF (1 mL) followed by the addition of NaOH (757 μL, 0.76 mmol) and ethanol (500 μL). After stirring for 2 hours, the reaction was diluted with ethyl acetate and 2N HCl. The layers were separated and the organic layer was dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated to yield 6-chloro-7-(4-(3-(4-chlorophenyl)propylcarbamoyl)phenoxy)chroman-4-carboxylic acid (76 mg, 0.15 mmol, 100% yield).
