Boc-Ala-OBn was dissolved in 4N HCl in dioxane (10 mL) and stirred for three hours at room temperature. The solvent was blown off under a stream of N2. The residue was placed under high vacuum for one hour. Re-dissolved in CH2Cl2 (50 mL) and rotovap dry. Repeat the drying circle for three times till the white powder forms.
