To the suspension of 5-chloro-7-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)imidazo[1,2-c]pyrimidine (57.94 mg, 0.2 mmol) and 4-aminobenzonitrile (35.44 mg, 0.3 mmol) in the mixture of 2.5 ml 2-propanol and 1.5 ml H2O was added conc.HCl. Then the mixture was stirred at 85 to 90° C. overnight, and cooled to room temperature. The produced solid was collected by filtration and purified by preparative TLC to give the desired product of 4-[7-(3,4-dimethoxy-phenyl)-imidazo[1,2-c]pyrimidin-5-ylamino]-benzonitrile. (38 mg, 51.2%).
