A solution of 2-chloro-N-((2S)-4-(((1R)-1-phenylethyl)morpholin-2-yl)phenyl)acetamide (0.9 g, 2.5 mmol), potassium carbonate (1.72 g, 12.5 mmol), and dimethylamine hydrochloride (1.00 g, 12.5 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (40 ml) and acetonitrile (80 ml) was stirred at 95° C. for 10 hours. After filtration, the solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was partitioned between water and dichloromethane. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure give N2,N2-dimethyl-N1-(4-((2S)-4-((1R)-1-phenylethyl)morpholin-2-yl)phenyl)glycinamide (1.15 g, quant.) as an yellow oil.
