Procedure
20.5 g (0.1 mole) of 1-phenyl-3-carbamoyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one and 12.2 g (0.1 mole) of p-hydroxybenzaldehyde were stirred for 1 hour in 100 ml of boiling dimethylformamide. The hot reaction mixture was poured out in 500 ml of an aqueous solution of sodium chloride (12%). After stirring and standing for a while, the yellow dye was filtered with suction, rinsed with water, and washed with hot acetone.
Workup
- filtrationthe yellow dye was filtered with suction
- washrinsed with water
- washwashed with hot acetone
